#AdaWisdomChallenge

READ Proverbs 8 (listen). WRITE out one verse and SHARE with someone.

Proverbs 8 is part of the lessons that open the book (Proverbs 1-9). In this chapter, woman wisdom calls out directly, in contrast to the previous chapter where folly attempts to seduce.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20a

Read: Matthew 28:19-20

Listen: Matthew 28

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Called “The Great Commission,” these are among the last words of Jesus on earth. They’re his “marching orders” for those who would follow him in the following centuries. They tell us what to do (make disciples), but they don’t tell us how to do it. There are many ways to do it. Ada Bible does it through three discipleship environments called the Row, Circle and Chair. These are three places where we become more like Jesus and make “auto-deposits” of truth and wisdom in our hearts.

The cool thing about auto-deposits is that great things are happening all the time. It’s true with our money, and it’s true with the Row, Circle and Chair. We’re investing in God’s truth and his wisdom when we actively participate in the Row (the weekend service, even online), the Circle (a small group) and the Chair (alone time with God). We might not need to withdraw from a financial or spiritual investment immediately, but it will be there when we do. Each of these three environments is valuable as a source of truth and wisdom.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Consider your current participation in the Row, Circle and Chair. Using Pastor Jeff Manion’s language, which do you need to continue, revive or begin? It’s easy to slow down the investments during relaxed summer months or make excuses because of COVID restrictions. Commit today to where you will make deposits into  your heart with the Row, Circle and Chair.
