TODAY’S MESSAGE

Elijah was ready to give up and call it quits. He even requested that God take his life. Yet, God does not let Elijah give up. In fact, God strengthens Elijah with food and rest and then commissions Elijah with his next task. Elijah’s encounter with God reminds us that God is always working in the details, even when we are deeply discouraged by our circumstances.

As long as we have a pulse, we have a purpose. God is not done with us yet. Even when times are hard and life feels overwhelming, we must remember that the story is not over and that God is not done with us (or others) yet. You may face a health crisis, financial setback, spiritual confusion, or relational tension. Just remember—IT IS NOT OVER. God is still working and always has something for us to do. If we have breath, there is always a next move.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Consider the next step God would have you take in your relationship with him. Some next steps come before others. Prayerfully consider a list of next steps for growing here at Ada Bible at adabible.org/next-steps. These are not the only next steps, but they provide a helpful and significant list for aiding your spiritual growth. Identify one next step to take in your walk with God, and then prayerfully commit to action.
