Text: 1 Timothy 5.3-10
“If you can’t do great things, Mother Teresa used to say, do little things with great love. If you can’t do them with great love, do them with a little love. If you can’t do them with a little love, do them anyway. Love grows when people serve people.” – John Ortberg, The Me I Want To Be: Becoming God’s Best Version of Me
Tabitha found a niche. She did her thing and, as a result, is remembered for her compassion. All too often, we wait around for something great to do, minimizing what we can do and missing the opportunities to show compassion. It doesn’t have to be big and spectacular. For Tabitha, it was sewing. For you, it will be different. You don’t have to promise everything, just do something. Make it simple and with as much love as you have to offer.
Today, add to the following list and start by doing one of them this weekend: visit someone in the hospital or at their elder home residence; help someone move; give toward someone’s financial need; encourage someone with a note; offer to pray with someone over the phone.
