Think of a time when you experienced a difficult season. Maybe you experienced the loss of income, a health crisis, the loss of a loved one, or a painful betrayal. In the middle of your crisis, did you wonder how you could gain more faith to be strong and trust God as you weathered the storm around you? 

The Apostle Paul found himself in this very situation. Swept up in Nero’s persecution of Christians, Paul found himself imprisoned in Rome and awaiting trial and eventual execution. In his last letter, he wrote to Timothy “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying of my hands.” 2 Timothy 1:6
